History of Waterbury Swiss

In 1949 the Tremaglio Brothers, Neil, Angelo, and Caesar combined their mechanical and financial expertise to commence the operations of Waterbury Swiss Automatics (“WSA”). This medium sized screw machine parts manufacturer has continued their legacy in its operation through today. In 1997, Neil Tremaglio, Jr. brought his combined CPA/MBA and screw machine expertise to the facility and now serves as Treasurer. His leadership will now be utilized, as we have commenced our goals of growing in variety and expertise of products while maintaining our history of quality and customer service.

Our diverse customer base covers a wide range of industries including some of the following: aerospace, automotive, circuit breakers, electronics, firearms, writing instruments, door openers, computers, medical, fasteners, switches, and many more. Several of our customers have been with us in excess of thirty years; they obviously appreciate our product and service.

In 1999, in our fiftieth year, we reiterated our commitment to our customers as our quality system became registered to ISO-9002 standards. In 2012 we upgraded this certification to the ISO-9001-2008 standards.

As our equipment list is reviewed, several points should come to mind. With approximately 17,000 square feet split among two facilities, we are large enough to tackle the most challenging jobs, yet small enough to be flexible to handle the smallest of orders. Recent purchases of Tsugami and Star CNC Swiss machinery now allow us to produce more diverse and sophisticated parts. Our plans call for continuing additions to the CNC fleet. Our patents for the screw machine stop-spindle attachment and rapid-index assembly offer some of our machines the capability of CNC equipment. Also, in addition to the listing, we hold strong and close alliances with Spring/Fourslide (a certified minority enterprise), Progressive, Davenport, Machining Center/EDM, Brown & Sharpe and Cold-Headed manufacturing facilities. Through our own facility and joined with our alliances, we can meet a majority of your parts needs.

Our pricing will remain competitive as we continue through our growing process. With our hands on engineering team, we can promise a quick turnaround on any quotation requests and subsequent fulfillment of orders.

It will be our pleasure to serve you, please contact us if there is any more information you desire, or use our online quote request form.
